Work with Monique
You've watched your child come home defeated. You've heard them say things that break your heart. You've sat in school meetings that left you more confused than when you walked in. You've Googled at midnight trying to understand why things that seem so simple for other kids are so hard for yours.
I've been there too. Not just as a teacher, as a mum.
Who I am
I'm a qualified teacher and mum to four boys. Between us we navigate ADHD, ASD, ODD and anxiety. I've spent years in classrooms understanding how children learn and develop, and years at home living the reality of raising children whose needs don't always fit the systems built around them.
That combination of professional knowledge and lived experience is at the heart of everything I do.
I know what it's like to advocate for your child in a school meeting when you're not sure of the language to use. I know the exhaustion of translating between your child's world and the world the school is asking them to fit into. I know how hard it is to watch a bright, creative, wonderful child slowly stop believing in themselves.
I also know what changes when the right support is in place.
What we work on
Every family is different. Sessions are tailored to what you need most right now. We might focus on:
Understanding your child Making sense of how your child's brain works, why certain situations are hard, and where their strengths already are.
Home and school alignment Understanding what's happening at school, knowing your rights, preparing for meetings, and building a shared language between home and school.
Building confidence at home Language, routines and strategies that protect your child's self-belief and help them develop a positive story about who they are.
Supporting you Processing the emotional weight of this journey and building your confidence as an advocate so you can show up clearly for your child.
How it works
Working with me is available in three ways:
Initial consultation — $250 A 60-minute session via Zoom. We focus on what's most pressing for your family right now and you leave with clarity, language and practical next steps. This session counts toward a package if you choose to continue.
3-session package — $600 Your initial consultation plus two further sessions at $175 each. Ideal for families working through a specific challenge or transition.
6-session package — $1,000 Your initial consultation plus five further sessions at $150 each. For families who want ongoing support across a longer period.
All sessions are held via Zoom so you can access support from anywhere in Australia.
Is this right for you?
This support is for parents and carers of neurodiverse children who are ready to feel more informed, more confident, and more connected to their child's world.
You don't need a diagnosis to start. You don't need to have the right words. You just need to want something different for your child.
Questions families often ask
Do we need a formal diagnosis to access support?
No. Many of the families I work with are in the process of seeking a diagnosis, or have children whose needs are clear but don’t fit neatly into a single category. What matters is that your child is struggling and you want to support them well.
My child’s school isn’t very supportive. Can you help with that?
Yes, this is one of the most common reasons families come to me. As a teacher, I understand how schools work from the inside. I can help you understand your child’s rights, communicate more effectively with teachers and leadership, and know what to ask for and how to ask for it.
How is this different from seeing a psychologist or OT?
A psychologist or OT assesses and treats. BEYA support is educational as it helps you understand, communicate, and advocate. Many families use BEYA alongside existing clinical support because it fills a gap that clinical appointments often can't.
